The earliest controversy of mural for East Los Angeles was America Tropical mural on Olvera Street. This mural was composed by David Alfaro Siqueiros in 1932.This mural depicts and Indian who hangs on a double cross, there is an imperialist eagle that is above crucified Native American. It is not depicted as controversy of interest to minorities it actually shows how most minorities where feeling at this time in Los Angeles history. Yet because of the history of oppression depicted in this mural it caused F.K. Ferenz, to have to whitewash the mural.
